Activities with pathogens
If significant changes occur in your activities with pathogens, you must immediately notify the State Office for Occupational Safety, Consumer Protection and Health (LAVG).

Detailed description
You are obliged to notify if you are responsible for activities with pathogens under infection control law.
If you have already received a permit to work with pathogens and have notified the first commencement of the activity, you must notify the LAVG immediately if
- significant changes are made in the nature and scope of the activity, the nature of the rooms and facilities or the disposal measures,
- significant changes occur in personnel in management positions,
- terminates the activity with pathogens, or
- activity with pathogens is resumed.
Even if there is no permit requirement, you must report changes in accordance with § 50 IfSG.
If you work under the supervision of a person who has a permit or is exempt from the permit requirement, you do not need to notify a change in activity.

- Rooms and equipment
- Activities with pathogens
- Disposal measures
- Personnel in management positions
- Termination / resumption of activity

Fee in connection with monitoring and control of activities with pathogens: EUR 600.00-1,240

Process
Significant changes in your activities with pathogens should be reported in writing:
- All you need is an informal display.
- Add the necessary evidence.
- Submit the notification as well as the required documents/notifications to the LAVG.

Deadline
Notification period: Any significant change must be notified to the LAVG immediately, i.e. without undue delay.
