As a resident, you can apply for a resident parking permit for your car or motorcycle or a motor vehicle that you use permanently. The resident parking permit is only valid for a specially designated zone (residents' parking area).

• You are registered in the residents' parking area and you actually live there
• there is no private parking space available
• the vehicle is registered to you or you use the vehicle permanently

• current identity card or passport
• Registration certificate I (formerly: vehicle registration document)
• Certificate of use, if the applicant is not the owner of the vehicle
• if requested by a representative
  • Power of attorney

Additional documents may be required.

€10.20 to €30.70 per year

in accordance with § 1 para. 1 of the Schedule of Fees for Road Traffic Measures (GebOSt) in conjunction with the fee no. 265 of the Annex (to § 1)

It is best to go to the competent authority in person and present the documents there.

At some road traffic authorities, you can also apply for the resident parking permit in writing or electronically. Check with your local authority to find out what documents you need to send in this case. In some cases, you will receive the parking permit in the mail, while in others you will have to pick it up on site.

The resident parking permit is limited in time.

The resident parking permit does not guarantee a fixed parking space.
The parking permit can be valid either only at certain times or around the clock.
