Applications can be submitted in writing to the Chamber of Architects at any time.

Professional titles, additions or word combinations according to § 1 (BbgArchG) may be used in the name of a partnership company, partnership company with limited professional liability or in the name of a corporation if the company is entered in a special register with the Chamber of Architects (company directory) or is entitled to do so as an external company according to § 8 (BbgArchG). Upon registration, the company does not become a member of the Chamber of Architects.

For registration, you must meet different requirements, depending on whether it is a partner company or a corporation.

Corporation

Companies may be entered in the register of corporations of the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects upon application,

• which have their registered office or branch in Brandenburg,
• whose participants are natural persons who provide freelance services in the field of planning, consulting, project management or site supervision in the construction industry,
• whose managing directors are entered in the list of architects,
• whose members entered on the list of architects hold both the majority of the capital and the majority of votes among the partners,
• whose articles of association contain an agreement according to which a fiduciary transfer and exercise of company rights and directors' powers is prohibited, and
• whose articles of association contain an agreement according to which the professional obligations applicable to the parties entered in the list of architects are observed by the company.
• have taken out professional indemnity insurance for themselves or their partners.

Note: Professional liability insurance must cover personal injury of at least 1,500,000 euros and other damages of at least 300,000 euros. It must include a five-year subsequent liability.

Any shares must be in the names of the members.

• For proof of the entrepreneurial legal form:
  • If the company is based in Germany:
    • Publicly certified copy of the articles of association
    • for partnership companies: proof of registration in the partnership register
    • for registered companies: an extract from the commercial register
  • If the company is domiciled abroad: documents from the country of residence proving the legal form.
• Proof of professional liability insurance according to §10 BbgArchG (insurance certificate in copy)
• Proof of entitlement to use the professional title
• List of all partners with information on their respective professional affiliation
• Copy of deposit slip

Application fee in the company register: € 510.00

Registration is made upon application. The Chamber of Architects shall acknowledge receipt of the documents and certificates to the applicant within one month and, if necessary, inform him of any documents and certificates missing. A decision on the application shall be taken within three months of receipt of the complete dossier.

The Registration Committee decides on the entry in the list of architects. The Registration Committee shall consist of the legal person presiding and the required number of assessors. The registration committee decides in the composition of the chairperson or his representative and four possessors, of which at least two assessors must belong to the field of expertise of the applicant.

Note: The application for registration of a partner company must be submitted by the partner entitled to use the professional title.
