Detailed description
Book VIII of the Social Code stipulates the areas in which the municipality must provide youth welfare services.
Specifically, these are mainly offers in the following fields:
- Family and parenting counselling
- Counselling for children and young people
- Educational aids
- Family education
- Child and youth work
- Youth social work including school social work and youth professional assistance
- Youth association work
Some of the described offers are implemented directly by employees of the Youth Welfare Office, the far greater part of the support and assistance measures is offered in cooperation with the Youth Welfare Office by independent youth welfare agencies.
Within the framework of youth welfare planning, needs are reviewed with regard to the above-mentioned fields of action and future goals and projects in the field of child and youth welfare are developed on this basis.
The cooperation between youth welfare planning, independent youth welfare agencies and the youth welfare committee plays a central role here. In addition to the establishment of a municipal child and youth promotion plan, the establishment and continuation of a reporting system on educational assistance is a central task of youth welfare planning.
