Activities with pathogens Change notification
If significant changes occur in your activities involving pathogens, you must notify the State Office for Occupational Safety, Consumer Protection and Health (LAVG) immediately.

Detailed description
You are obliged to notify the LAVG if you are responsible under infection protection law for activities involving pathogens.
If you have already received a permit to work with pathogens and have notified the LAVG that you are starting work for the first time, you must notify the LAVG immediately if
- significant changes are made to the nature and scope of the activity, the nature of the rooms and facilities or the disposal measures,
- significant changes occur in the personnel in management positions,
- the activity with pathogens is terminated or
- the activity with pathogens is resumed.
Even if a permit is not required, you must report changes in accordance with Section 50 IfSG.
If you work under the supervision of a person who has a permit or is exempt from the permit requirement, you do not need to report any changes to the activity.

Significant changes in accordance with § 50 IfSG with regard to the following points must be documented by submitting documents / written notifications:
- Rooms and equipment
- Activities with pathogens
- Disposal measures
- Personnel in management positions
- Termination / resumption of activity

Fee in connection with monitoring and control of activities with pathogens: EUR 600.00-1,240

Process
You must notify us in writing of any significant changes in your activities involving pathogens:
- An informal notification is sufficient.
- Attach the necessary evidence.
- Submit the notification and the required documents/notifications to the LAVG.

Deadline
Notification period: LAVG must be notified immediately, i.e. without undue delay, of any material change.
