The production, use and processing of hazardous substances containing asbestos is generally prohibited for both companies and private individuals. Exemptions apply to demolition, renovation and maintenance work. If activities with asbestos-containing materials are involved, you as a trader must report this to the LAVG before the start of the work.

• Employment of experts according to TRGS 519 (number 5 TRGS 519)
• in the case of work with weakly bound asbestos, additional approval as a specialist company

In the ad, list at least:

• Location of the workplace (address)
• types and quantities of asbestos used or handled;
• the activities carried out and the procedures used;
• the number of employees involved,
• the commencement and duration of the activities;
• Measures to limit the release of asbestos and to limit the exposure of workers to asbestos.

In addition, you must provide the following information or documents:

• Certificate of Competence
• Authorisation, if applicable
• Flow chart
• Operating instructions

The intended activities with asbestos-containing materials should be reported in writing:

• Download the form online and print it.
• Fill out the form and add the necessary supporting documents.
• Submit the notification as well as the required documents to the LAVG.

Notification deadline: no later than 7 days before the start of the activities
