If you would like to know what information about you is stored at the National Weapons Register, you can request information.
The National Firearms Register stores data relating to the handling of weapons and ammunition subject to authorisation.
If you have a weapons permit or a weapon, you may request information about which of your data is stored in the register. To do this, you must submit a written application to the Federal Office of Administration.
The National Firearms Register only records data relating to the handling of weapons and ammunition subject to authorisation:- Data of the responsible weapons authority (e.g. name, address),
- Personal data (natural and legal persons as well as associations of persons, e.g. name, address, date/place of birth, nationality),
- Permission data (e.g. permission type) and
- Data about the weapon (for example, manufacturer, model, weapon category and caliber designation).

You have a weapons permit and/or one or more weapons

- certified copy of the valid identity card or
- (at personal introduction:) valid identity card

Process
You must apply in writing for information from the National Firearms Register.
- Use the corresponding application form, fill it out and send it by post to the Federal Office of Administration.
- It is also possible to submit your completed application in person to the Federal Office of Administration in Cologne by presenting your valid identity document.
- The registry authority will examine your application. If the application meets the formal requirements, she will contact the competent weapons authority. If the weapons authority does not object, the information will be sent to you by post.
