    The volunteer members of the volunteer fire brigade help people in emergency situations. Would you like to join the volunteer fire brigade? You do not need any previous knowledge. Just contact the fire department in your community.

    Admission to the volunteer fire brigade is subject to the following requirements. You must

    • be at least 17 years old (if you are younger, you can work in a youth fire brigade),
    • have a good physical and mental constitution,
    • agree to a longer period of service, and
    • must not have violated certain criminal offences of the Criminal Code (e.g. arson).
