Noise Action Plan
Noise Action Plan: Explanation, Preparation and Opportunities for Participation

Detailed description
A noise action plan is an interdisciplinary planning instrument that takes noise protection concerns into account as far as possible in all infrastructural and environmental planning. On the one hand, the aim of this planning is to reduce environmental noise primarily in those places where noise pollution has reached a level that is harmful to health. On the other hand, at the same time, quieter areas as such should be protected and preserved. To this end, the EU adopted the "Environmental Noise Directive" in 2002. As part of a two-stage procedure, the ambient noise level is first recorded in noise maps and then a corresponding noise action plan is drawn up to reduce noise pollution.
