Urban development measures are urban rearrangements in clearly defined development areas in cities and villages in accordance with §§ 165 et seq. of the Special Urban Planning Law of the Building Code (BauGB). They must be in the public interest and of particular importance for the development of the municipality.
The course of an urban development measure corresponds – with some important differences – approximately to the course of an urban redevelopment. Accordingly, § 169 BauGB additionally refers to urban redevelopment in accordance with § 136 et seq. BauGB when carrying out a development measure. In particular, the regulations on preparation, implementation, land law, commissioners, etc. according to §§ 136 ff . of the Building Code.
