All degree programs at universities in the state of Brandenburg - with the exception of continuing education programs - are free of tuition fees.

Detailed description
No tuition fees are charged for studies up to the first professionally qualifying degree and for studies in a consecutive degree program leading to a further professionally qualifying degree.
However, upon enrollment you must pay the following contributions and fees upon enrollment:
- Semester fees of the Studentenwerke
- Student body fees (General Student Committee)
- Contributions for the semester ticket
- Enrollment fee
- partial administrative fees
The specific amount of the fees can be found on the university websites.
Most universities also charge Fees for guest students. You can also find more detailed information on the specific amount of these fees on the university websites.
In cases of particular hardship and to compensate for disadvantages, some universities offer the possibility of fee waivers. Information on this can be obtained from the universities.
Tuition fees are not charged for a second degree course or if you exceed the standard period of study.
