Many healthcare professionals choose to have their own practice. This applies to medical health professions and health professions, such as:

• Alternative practitioners (limited to the field of psychotherapy/physiotherapy)
• Nurse and paediatric nurse
• Midwives and maternity assistants
• Care for the elderly
• Physiotherapy, physiotherapy
• Masseuses and masseurs
• Medical lifeguards
• Speech therapy
• Occupational therapy, occupational and occupational therapy
• Orthoptics

The following applies to all professional groups in the health care sector: If you wish to practice your profession independently, you must report this immediately to the responsible health authority.

Immediate notification to your local health authority is also necessary in the following cases:

• They employ health care professionals.
• They offer or provide nursing and geriatric care activities for a fee.  

If you have such an obligation to notify other bodies due to other legal provisions, then you do not need to report it to the health department.

• You have taken out professional indemnity insurance.
• There is no obligation to notify other bodies under other legal provisions.

• personal data, such as name, address, etc.
• certified copies of the professional license or the permit to use the professional title
• If applicable, proof of qualifications

If applicable, costs for the issuance of a certificate: EUR 30.00

A notification, for example for the registration of a medical practice, must be made in writing:

• Check with your health department to see if a form is available for notification.
• Submit the notification (if applicable, the completed form) together with the necessary evidence to your local health authority.
• Otherwise, please contact your local health authority.
