  • Requirements

You attend a general education school that offers career entry support and meet the following conditions:

    • You need support to achieve your school leaving certificate or
    • You need support to make your transition to vocational training and
    • You are in the penultimate school year and
    • You and your parents agree to participate in a career entry support.
  • Documents

The documents required for the initial interview will be communicated or handed over to you by your teacher or by the school social workers or by your career counsellor at the Employment Agency.

    These include, for example:

    • a curriculum vitae,
    • School reports and
    • the declaration of consent signed by you and the legal guardian to pass on data for the selection process and to participate in a career entry support measure.

If you can participate in the career entry support, you must complete a registration and participant questionnaire. The questionnaire is provided to you by your career entry companion.

  • Fees

There are no costs for you.

  • Process

Ask your teachers if your school offers career entry support. Or preferably ask your career counsellor personally at the Employment Agency.
There you can also announce that you would like to participate in the career entry support.
Your teachers can also draw your attention to this offer.

    • You and your legal guardian or your legal representative must agree that you want to participate in the career entry support and also agree to a data exchange between the school and the Employment Agency. For this purpose, you and your legal guardian or your legal representative must sign a declaration of consent for the disclosure of the necessary data. This involves an exchange of information on:
      • your school grades,
      • your knowledge of the school subjects,
      • your learning and working behaviour and, if necessary,
      • Your results from the potential analysis.
    • In an interview between your teacher, the career counsellor responsible for you or the career counsellor of the Employment Agency responsible for you and, if applicable, the school social work, it will be clarified whether you meet the requirements for participation in the career entry support.
    • The interview participants clarify whether and what is to be specifically promoted by the career entry support and what exactly can be achieved (set common goals).
    • If it is determined in the interview that you can be supported by the career entry support, you must complete a registration and participant questionnaire.
    • The further procedure will be coordinated together with you.
  • Duration

The procedure can take up to 3 months from the appointment for the initial or admission interview to the start of the career entry support.

  • Deadline

In principle, career entry support begins in the preliminary class of the general education school, provided that it also offers career entry support.
A later entry is possible for you in individual cases, if appropriate places in the career entry support are available and the accompaniment still seems promising to support the integration into vocational training.
