Detailed description
Classic cars can be vehicles that were first registered 30 years ago (or earlier). This depends on the date of the first registration. Such vehicles, which are as far as possible in their original condition and in good condition, are motor vehicle cultural assets.
Classic cars are not intended for everyday use. However, there are historic vehicles with which you can take part in road traffic without restriction. These vehicles have an "H" in the last position of the license plate.
There is also the red classic car license plate. This begins with "07" and can be used for several classic cars and for the following purposes:
- Arrivals and departures as well as participation in events that serve the presentation of vintage vehicles and the "maintenance of motor vehicle cultural assets"
- Test, trial and transfer journeys with classic cars
- Journeys for the maintenance and repair of classic cars
Note:Historic vehicles with a corresponding license plate are tax-privileged. They are subject to a flat-rate vehicle tax.
If you wish to drive in an environmental zone, please refer to the service"Exemption from driving bans in environmental zones".
