Vehicles belonging to a non-profit institution or a social service can be issued with a parking permit by the competent authority. This can, for example, entitle the holder to park free of charge in restricted stopping zones, in residents' parking zones or in parking space management zones (parking spaces with parking meters or parking ticket machines). The exemption is usually only valid for certain individual activities of the non-profit institution or social service.

Please note the exact content of the exemption permit. Above all, other persons must not be endangered or hindered when using the special permit.

The competent authority shall examine the application for a parking card. There is no entitlement on the part of the applicant.

State of Brandenburg:

In the case of objectively justifiable reasons, exceptions to the standards mentioned in § 46 para. 1 StVO may be granted in individual cases. In exceptional cases, it requires reasons that outweigh the public interest in the prohibition from which the exemption is sought and must not significantly impair the protected interest of the provision concerned. They are therefore only justified in cases of particular urgency and particularly high requirements must be imposed on the proof of urgency.

The documents to be submitted vary from authority to authority. For example, you must submit a copy of the vehicle registration document.

State of Brandenburg:

As a rule, a written, justified application, the vehicle registration document, the identity card, the business registration and, depending on the individual case, other documents must be submitted.

• The amount of the fee varies depending on the number of vehicles, the period of validity of the parking permit and its area of application.
