Notification of the new construction or significant modification of an oil heating system
If you want to build a new heating oil consumer system (e.g. heating oil tanks) or significantly change an existing one, you must notify the responsible water authority six weeks in advance.

Detailed description
For all underground facilities for the storage of heating oil as well as for above-ground heating oil storage facilities with more than 1000 liters of heating oil, there is an obligation to notify the lower water authority before construction or significant modification.
The project must be notified to the lower water authority in good time, i.e. at least six weeks before the start of construction or significant modification. The water authority can impose conditions or reject projects. -
Documents
The notification must contain information on the operator, the location and delimitation of the plant, the water-polluting substances that are handled in the plant, proof of usability by the building authorities and the technical and organizational measures that are important for the safety of the plant.

The project can be started 6 weeks after notification has been made, unless otherwise ordered or prohibited by the competent authority.

Paragraph 1 shall not be subject to notification of the erection of:
1. facilities for the storage, filling or handling of water-polluting substances for which a suitability assessment is applied for in accordance with Section 63 (1) of the Water Resources Act, and
2. other installations which are subject to an approval procedure under other legislation, provided that the approval procedure also ensures compliance with the requirements of this Regulation.
