The company cards are issued or delivered to the entrepreneurs or the persons appointed to represent them by law, articles of association or articles of association.

The entrepreneurs ensure the proper use of the cards. In addition, you must ensure that at the beginning and at the end of the vehicle deployment for the company, the company card is entered in the tachograph in order to assign the use of the vehicle to the company.

The operators are responsible for the regular storage of the data read from the tachographs and must hand them over at the request of the authorities or their agents.

The application must be applied for by the entrepreneur or an authorised person or an authorised person in person at the driving licence authority in person at the competent authority or online.

Company cards are issued impersonally to the company and are generally sent directly to the company.

The expiry date of the company card to be replaced (replacement card) corresponds to the expiry date of the previous company card if the remaining term is more than 185 calendar days.

In the event of theft or loss of the company card, proof of a report (theft report by the police) or, in the event of loss of the card, a written declaration (declaration of loss) must be submitted to the competent authority when submitting the application. Upon request, the competent authority may request an affirmation in lieu of an oath.

If the remaining term of the card is less than 6 months, the card will be renewed.

Upon issuance of the replacement card, the replaced card loses its validity.

A recovered card must be returned to the issuing authority or body.

Entrepreneur cards are issued to the entrepreneur or the persons and vehicle owners appointed to represent them by law, articles of association or partnership agreement, whose drivers carry out transports that fall within the scope of Regulation (EC) No. 561/2006 or which must comply with driving and rest periods according to § 1 Fahrpersonalverordnung (FPersV) or who have to download data from the mass memory in accordance with § 57a paragraph 3 of the StVZO.

You can apply for the replacement of your company card with the required documents and information online or on site at the driving licence authority.

• In order to identify yourself online and check your documents, you must have the option of online authentication via company account and digital upload of the required documents.
• You can pay for the application online via a payment service provider.
• The creation of a company map is subject to a fee.
• As part of the application, you must provide all required information and submit or upload documents.
• The competent authority will check your information for completeness and accuracy.
• After successful verification, the KBA (Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt) issues the company card.
• You can use the issued company card
  • pick up directly from the responsible office in person or
  • can be sent directly (after online authentication and online payment) by the KBA.
