Notification of the construction, substantial modification or decommissioning of a slurry, slurry and silage leachate plant

You must give at least 6 weeks' notice of the construction, decommissioning or significant modification of a slurry, slurry and silage leachate (JGS) plant.

  • Detailed description

    If you have a

    • plant for storing silage leachate with a volume of more than 25 cubic meters,
    • other JGS plant with a total volume of more than 500 cubic metres, or
    • If you want to build, decommission or substantially modify a facility for the storage of solid manure or silage with a volume of more than 1,000 cubic metres, you must notify the competent authority.
  • Requirements

    With the required documents, you prove that your plant complies with the requirements of the Ordinance on Installations for the Handling of Water-Hazardous Substances (AwSV).

    • Detailed documentation describing the project (site plan, drawings, verifications, descriptions)
    • Expert opinions, if applicable
  • Process
    • You fill out the forms required for the notification and send them to the lower water authority by post or e-mail or you use the online service for the application.
    • In any case, the authority will check your documents for completeness and, if necessary, request missing information or documents.
    • In addition, the content requirements are reviewed, which may also lead to additional claims.
    • If there are no objections, your application data will be entered into the authority's specialist procedure.
  • Deadline

    You must submit your notification to the competent authority in writing or online at least six weeks in advance.
