You must submit your notification of the construction, significant modification or change of the hazard level of a facility subject to inspection to the competent authority in good time in advance.

The construction of these installations shall not be notified if:

• for the facilities for the storage, filling or handling of water-polluting substances, a suitability assessment in accordance with the Water Resources Act is applied for, or
• installations are subject to an approval procedure under other legislation, provided that the approval procedure also ensures compliance with the requirements of this Regulation. In this case, significant changes to the system requiring approval are also not subject to notification.

The installations must comply with the requirements of the Ordinance on Installations for the Handling of Water-Polluting Substances (AwSV). This must be proven with the documents to be submitted.

• Completed notification form
• Detailed documentation describing the project (site plan, drawings, verifications, descriptions)
• Expert opinions, if applicable

If you want to submit the ad online:

• You submit the ad through the online service.
• The water authority will check your documents for completeness and, if necessary, request missing information or documents.
• In addition, the content requirements are reviewed, which may also lead to additional claims.
• It may prohibit the project provisionally or definitively or issue a decision with conditions.

If you want to send the advertisement by letter or e-mail:

• You fill out the forms required for the notification and send them to the lower water authority.
• The further procedural steps correspond to the online procedure.

Please send your notification to the competent authority at least six weeks in advance.
