Generalinformation for the application for approval of the commencement of operation of an electricity/gas supply network in accordance with § 4 of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG). See: https://mwe.brandenburg.de/de/energieaufsicht/bb1.c.478789.de . The application can also be processed via a single body, § 4 paragraph 5 EnWG.

If you intend to operate an energy supply network, you need approval from the competent authority under state law.

You own the

• personnel, technical and economic performance and
• Reliability

to ensure long-term network operation in accordance with legal regulations.

• information on the network (acquisition, construction of a new network, investments, network capacity, presentation of the network),
• information on the customers whose supply is to be taken up;
• information on the gas/electricity purchases of customers,
• Proof of the legal form of the company (extract from the commercial register, articles of association),
• Documents on personnel and technical performance (organizational chart with number of employees and their qualifications), technical equipment (see VDN Guideline S-1000 or DVGW worksheet G 1000), submission of contracts with subcontractors,
• Submission of a profit and loss statement (investments and depreciation, capital and financial plan, operating expenses, profit and loss account),
• Documents on economic performance (proof of equity, shareholdings in the company, last profit and loss account).

The application must be submitted in writing to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy of the State of Brandenburg.

The application should be submitted well in advance of the intended start of the operation of an energy supply network (usually a few months before).
