  • Detailed description

The air sports equipment directory stores the data of all domestically certified ultralight aircraft, ultralight helicopters and gyrocopters. If you purchase a used device requiring registration, you must report this to your air sports association.

Unlike new equipment, you do not have to register an already approved used device again, but only apply for the changes in the air sports equipment directory.

Likewise, you must communicate it if your personal details such as place of residence and name change.

The air sports equipment will then be rewritten to your ownership and the entry in the air sports equipment directory will be changed.

Air sports equipment subject to approval includes three-axle vehicles, trikes, gyrocopters and paramotor trikes with an unladen mass of more than 120 kg.

Personal data such as the name and address of the owner as well as technical data such as the

    • the type and model of the aircraft and serial number of the airframe,
    • nationality and registration marks of the aircraft, and
    • the number of the aircraft register sheet.

In special circumstances, German authorities may have access to your data. This applies to:

    • administrative measures in the field of air transport,
    • to prosecute infringements of aviation regulations, or
    • to prosecute criminal offences or to avert threats to public security.

You must carry the certificate of registration with you when operating your aircraft.
