Written form requirement (prospective: online procedure)

A need to acquire and possess a firearm and the ammunition intended for it is recognised in the case of a person who credibly demonstrates that he or she is endangered by attacks on life or limb to a greater extent than the general public and that the acquisition of the firearm and ammunition is suitable and necessary to mitigate this risk.

A need to carry a firearm shall be recognised if it is credibly demonstrated that the conditions set out in paragraph 1 are also met outside one's own home, business premises or pacified property.

The applicant must have reached the age of 18, have the necessary reliability and personal suitability, prove the necessary expertise, a need and insurance against liability in the amount of 1 million euros - lump sum for personal injury and property damage.
