At the Landeshauptarchiv für Gutachten:

1. two colour final artworks (A4) or an image file of equivalent quality,
2. a justification of the coat of arms motif, and
3. the decision of the respective representative body to introduce or change the coat of arms.

Subsequently, at the Ministry of the Interior:

1. a colour final artwork (DIN-A4) or an image file of equivalent quality,
2. the expert opinion of the Brandenburgisches Landeshauptarchiv and
3. the decision of the respective representative body to introduce or change the coat of arms.

Enquiry with the competent local authority as to whether the coat of arms may be used.
