Registering a fishing vessel for eel fishing

If you wish to use a fishing vessel for eel fishing, you must report this to the relevant lower fisheries authority.

  • Detailed description

    If you wish to use a fishing vessel for eel fishing, you must register the vessel with the competent lower fisheries authority (register fishing vessel for eel fishing).

    You will provide your contact details and registration number, as well as the date from which the vessel is to be used for eel fishing and provide details of the fishing vessel.

  • Requirements

    They must be registered for eel fishing, i.e. have a registration number.

  • Process
    • Before commencing the eel fishery, they shall register the vessel with the competent lower fisheries authority.
    • The notification must include the contact details, the registration number, the date on which the vessel is to be used for eel fishing and details of the fishing vessel.
    • Your registered eel fishing vessel will be included in a register.

    If you no longer wish to use a fishing vessel for commercial eel fishing, you must immediately notify the competent lower fisheries authority. The vessel shall then be removed from the register by the competent lower fisheries authority.
