Proof of disposal confirmation

Are you subject to the obligation to provide proof of hazardous waste and must obtain a certificate of disposal? Then, under certain conditions, you need an officially confirmed proof of disposal.

  • Detailed description

    The disposal, i.e. the recovery or disposal including the collection and transport of hazardous waste, is subject to a verification procedure under waste law. Waste producers as well as holders, transporters, collectors and disposers of hazardous waste are obliged to do so. This does not apply to private households and small volume producers who do not generate more than two tonnes of hazardous waste per year.

    If the disposal company is not approved for the privileged procedure and no collective proof from a carrier can be used because more than 20 t of the waste is generated at the point of generation in that year, an officially confirmed proof of disposal is required.

  • Requirements

    Access to the electronic verification procedure through a mailbox directly at the ZKS or via a provider.
    An electronic signature card is required for the necessary electronic signature of the proof documents. This signature card is available from various providers.

    • Prescribed forms of the Verification Ordinance
    • including suitable declaration analysis
  • Process
    • preparation of the responsible declaration (DEN, VE, DA) by the producer,
    • Supplementing the declaration of proof with the declaration of acceptance (AE) of the disposal company,
    • Submission of electronic proof to the disposal authority,
    • Acknowledgement of receipt with subsequent request from the disposal authority in the case of incomplete or incorrect documents or official confirmation from the disposal authority in the case of complete and correct documents.
    • Keeping consignment notes for each transport.
  • Duration

    1 to 4 weeks

  • Deadline

    The certificates must be valid at the time of disposal.
    The authority has 30 days until the official confirmation of complete and correct supporting documents, the receipt must be confirmed within 12 calendar days.
    A proof can be confirmed for a maximum of five years.
    The deadlines for sending the electronic consignment notes by the disposal company are 10 calendar days.
