Detailed description
For each electoral district, an official electoral register is kept by the municipality. It lists all citizens who are entitled to vote on election day. As a general rule, eligible voters who are registered as having their main residence in the municipality on the 42nd day before the election are entered in the voters' register ex officio. The municipality will send you a voter notification no later than the 21st day before the election.
If you have not received a voter's notification by the 21st day before the election, you should immediately check with your municipality whether you are registered on the electoral roll. If this is not the case, you can apply for registration.
If you have a different situation, e.g. moving to the municipality after the 42nd day before the election or permanent residence as a secondary residence, please contact the municipal election authority immediately.
