Detailed description
For each electoral district, the municipal electoral authority keeps an official voters' register. Only those who are entered in the voters' register can exercise their right to vote in the Landtag election.
The basis for entry in the voters' register is the population register of the municipality. In principle, citizens entitled to vote who are registered in the municipality with their main residence on the 35th day (cut-off date) before the Landtag election are registered ex officio. The municipality will notify you no later than the 28th day before the election with a written voter notification.
If you have not received a voter's notification by the 28th day before the election, you should immediately check with your commune whether you are entered in the voters' register. If this is not the case, you can apply for registration.
If you have a different situation, e.g. moving to the municipality after the 35th day before the election or permanent residence as a secondary residence, please contact the municipal election authority immediately.
