  • Detailed description

For each constituency, the municipality maintains an official voters' register. In principle, voters (EU nationals only if certain conditions are met) who are registered with their main residence on the 42nd day before the election are entered ex officio in the voters' register and receive a voter notification no later than the 21st day before the election.

If you have not received a voter notification by the 21st day before the election, you should immediately check with your municipality whether you are registered on the voters' register. If this is not the case, you can apply for registration.

EU nationals who have not been entered on the electoral roll ex officio can submit a written application to the municipal electoral authority no later than the 21st day before the election (§ 17 a EuWO). Since the voter notification cards are regularly sent well before the 21st day before the election, you should ask the municipal election authority from the 30th day before the election if the election is not received.

If you have a different situation, e.B. moving into the municipality after the 42nd day before the election, please contact the municipal election authority immediately.
