Detailed description
Permission to carry a weapon is granted by a firearms license. A licence to carry firearms in accordance with sentence 1 shall be granted for certain firearms for a maximum period of three years; the period of validity may be extended twice for a maximum of three years each, and shall be shorter if only a temporary need is demonstrated. The scope of the firearms licence is to be limited to certain occasions or areas if a need beyond this is not proven.
The requirements for the issuance of a permit to carry alarm, irritant and signal weapons are set out in Annex 2, Section 2, Subsection 3, Nos. 2 and 2.1 (Small firearms license)

Requirements
The applicant must have reached the age of 18, have the necessary reliability and personal suitability, prove the necessary expertise, a need and insurance against liability in the amount of 1 million euros - lump sum for personal injury and property damage.
