  • Detailed description

On the basis of the Brandenburg Building Code of 19.05.2016 – published in the Law and Ordinance Gazette for the State of Brandenburg No. 14 of 20.05.2016 – compliance with the requirements for stability, fire, sound and vibration protection must be proven under certain conditions (§ 66 para. 1 BbgBO - Structural Proofs). As a rule, the building submission authorization according to § 65 para. 2 nos. 1, 2 and 4 includes the authorization to prepare the structural engineering verifications. By way of derogation, however, for the construction projects referred to in § 66 (2), both the proof of stability and the proof of fire protection must be prepared by a person who meets the requirements set out in § 66 (2) and is entered in the corresponding list. In accordance with § 66 para. 5 BbgBO, the lists for the registration of verification authorization for structural design and fire protection are maintained jointly by the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects and the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers. A partial list is kept at the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers and the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects

Since 01.10.2002, verifications for stability including the fire resistance of load-bearing components, preventive fire protection, sound and heat insulation as well as verifications for power generation plants have to be drawn up by persons authorised to do so (persons authorised to provide verification) or, after checking compliance with the requirements of this Act or on the basis of this Act, to be certified by experts. These verifications are also no longer checked by the building inspectorate.

Persons entitled to provide evidence are persons, in particular architects and civil engineers, who are entered in the special lists of persons entitled to provide evidence on the basis of their professional experience and references. Registration must be applied for in writing with the necessary evidence.
