  • Detailed description

    The list of interpreters and translators contains information on interpreters and authorised translators generally sworn by the presidents of the regional courts of the Land of Brandenburg.

    In particular, the list shall contain the following information:

    • the name,
    • the address,
    • telecommunications connections,
    • the language for which the general oath or authorisation was made,
    • whether the registered person works as an interpreter or translator ,
    • the date of the general oath or authorisation,
    • for interpreters and translators from other EU/EEA countries, the professional title corresponding to the regulations of the country of establishment.

    The personal data for the publication of which the interpreter or translator has given his consent are published on the Internet in the nationwide interpreter and translator database (§ 6 para. 5 Ordinance on the Implementation of the Brandenburg Interpreting Act).

    Interpreters have the right to appear in court nationwide on the basis of their oath (see Section 189 (2) of the Judiciary Act).

    The authorization of translators by the competent authority of a federal state is accepted nationwide.

  • Documents

    The application must be accompanied by proof and details of your sworn in as an interpreter or authorisation by the Potsdam Regional Court.

  • Fees

    Free of charge in accordance with § 1 para. 3 sentence 3 of the Ordinance on the Implementation of the Brandenburg Interpreting Act

  • Process

    The application for inclusion in the list of interpreters and translators must be submitted in writing to the Potsdam Regional Court (§ 6 para. 5 sentence 2 of the Act on the General Swearing of Interpreters and Authorisation of Translators of the State of Brandenburg).

    If the prerequisites are met, you will be included in the list of interpreters and translators.

    If you have given your consent to the publication of your personal data, they will be published on the Internet in the nationwide interpreter and translator database (§ 6 para. 5 Ordinance on the Implementation of the Brandenburg Interpreting Act).

  • Duration

    Applications must be processed immediately, but at the latest within three months of complete submission of all documents (§ 3 para. 1 Ordinance on the Implementation of the Brandenburg Interpreting Act).
