  • Detailed description

    For the early detection of dental, oral and maxillofacial diseases in children and adolescents, the dental services of the health authorities in the state of Brandenburg offer dental group prophylaxis for children and adolescents. The aim is to:

    • To give children an awareness and sense of responsibility for the health of their teeth
    • Improve oral hygiene
    • Detect and prevent dental diseases
    • parents and advise them if they wish.  

    Group dental prophylaxis is carried out in day-care centres and schools.

    These measures are funded by the statutory health insurance companies.

    This is a population medical measure. It cannot be claimed as an individual benefit.

    Dental prophylaxis passport (issued by the dental services at the first contact)

  • Fees

    None for children, youth or their families.

  • Process

    The legal guardians will be informed about the performance of the dental examination and the measures of group prophylaxis. The dental service carries out these examinations in the day-care centres and schools or on its own premises. The legal guardians will then receive information.

    The examinations are carried out annually.
