Payment of pensions for surviving dependants of war victims

If a war victim has died as a result of injury, the widow, surviving partner, orphans and relatives in the ascending line are entitled to a survivor's pension.

  • Detailed description

    If a war victim has died as a result of injury, the widow, surviving partner, orphans and relatives in the ascending line are entitled to a survivor's pension.

    The pension will be paid to an account held by you or by a third party living with you in the same household.

    If you wish, the pension can also be paid free of charge as a money order by Deutsche Postbank AG to your place of residence or habitual abode. In special cases, the pension can be paid in cash at the competent administrative office.

  • Process

    You specify the desired method of payment (account details, account holder) when submitting your application.

    The pension is paid out free of charge

      • to an account of the person entitled to receive the pension
      • to an account of a person who lives in the same household as the person entitled to receive the pension.
      • as a payment order by Deutsche Postbank AG to the person's place of residence or habitual abode
      • In special cases as a cash payment at the responsible administrative office
  • Duration

    The payout to a domestic account can take up to 5 business days after payment instruction.
