Detailed description
If you discover head lice infestation in your child, the community facility that your child regularly attends (e.g. daycare centers, schools or similar facilities) must be informed immediately.
The management of the community facility must inform the public health department immediately and provide details of the disease and personal details.
Head lice infestation is the most common parasitic disease in Europe. Anyone can get head lice. This is not due to a lack of hygiene. Especially in places where many children come together, head lice are transmitted quickly.
Children with head lice are not allowed to enter rooms of the community facility, use facilities of the community facility or take part in events of the community facility until there is no longer any risk of them spreading the lice.
A medical certificate is only required if a person has had repeated cases of lice within four weeks. This corresponds to the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute.
