If you change your place of residence, you must arrange for your child's passport to be changed.

Detailed description
It has no longer been possible to apply for a children's passport since January 1, 2024 The legal basis for issuing children's passports expired on January 1, 2024.
If you move from another city or municipality, you must have your child's new place of residence entered in their children's passport without delay.
Please note! In the event of a name change, a new children's passport is required.

- The child is registered with a new place of residence at the city or municipal administration.
- The legal guardians (usually the parents) are entitled to apply.

- Identity card or passport of the legal guardian (usually the parents)
- current confirmation of registration (if the passport is not updated at the same time as your registration)
if applicable:
- Declaration of consent from the other legal guardian or declaration of custody or negative certificate from the responsible youth welfare office

Process
Go in person to the passport office of the city or municipal administration of your new place of residence to have your child's passport changed.
Tip: As a rule, you can have the change of residence in the passport made at the same time as the registration, as the municipality is both the registration and passport authority.
