  • Detailed description

You must apply for further training funding in writing. The procedure is a two-stage process: First, you submit an application for funding for further training as described here in Part 1-Application/Approval.

    • A grant of up to 50 percent of the total eligible expenditure is possible per application and amounts to a maximum of EUR 500 per applicant per year. The applicant's own contribution is at least 50 percent.
    • The State Office for Social Affairs and Care (LASV) examines the application and decides whether a grant can be approved.

With the decision, you will receive information about which expenses are eligible, how payment is made and how to apply. Part 2 - Payment of the training grant for midwives then takes effect.

  • Requirements

You work as a midwife in the state of Brandenburg.

The prerequisite for the granting of an allowance is the proven participation in job-related and, in individual cases, necessary further training, in particular at midwifery schools, universities with midwifery degree programs and midwifery associations, which serve to maintain and develop the specialist knowledge required to practice the profession.

    • in the case of exclusively freelance work, a copy of the confirmation of the notification to the health authority in accordance with Section 12 (2) sentence 1 of the Brandenburg Health Service Act of April 23, 2008 (GVBl. I p. 95), which was last amended by Article 2 of the Act of November 23, 2023 (GVBl I/23 No. 23)

    • If you are an employee, ask your employer for confirmation of your permanent employment and proof that you do not receive any financial support from them. At the same time, submit a copy of the confirmation of the notification to the health authority in accordance with Section 12 (2) sentence 1 of the Brandenburg Health Service Act of April 23, 2008 (GVBl. • You will receive information about which expenses are eligible for funding, how payment is made and how to apply.

  • Legal basis
  • Pointer

A separate application must be submitted for each training course. This must be submitted at least four weeks before the start of the project with all the necessary documents. The date of receipt is decisive. The premature start of the measure constitutes a violation of the state budget law and excludes funding. A project is generally considered to have begun as soon as the corresponding supply and service contracts have been concluded.
