Apply for approval for work on low-bonded asbestos products

If you want to carry out renovation or demolition work in the presence of asbestos with high fiber releases, you need a permit, which you apply for from the responsible authority.

    The form for company-related notification of activities involving materials containing asbestos (in accordance with Annex I No. 2.4.2 GefStoffV and No. 3.2 TRGS 519) can be found in the technical rule for hazardous substances (TRGS 519 Asbestos: Demolition, renovation or maintenance work) on page 45 under Appendix 1.1.

  • Detailed description

    You require a permit for renovation or demolition work in the presence of asbestos with high fiber releases. This applies in particular to work where asbestos is present in a weakly bound form or due to work where a high number of asbestos fibers may be released.

    • Availability of personnel and safety equipment
    • Compliance with the requirements contained in TRGS 519 "Asbestos"

    • Proof of expertise
    • Test certificates (e.g. device inspections)

    Costs: variable from 100 to 1000 euros

  • Process

    You can apply for a permit for renovation or demolition work by e-mail or post to the responsible authority.

    • You submit the required documents with your application.
    • The competent authority checks your application for completeness
    • The competent authority gives you feedback.
    • The competent authority issues the approval or rejection.
