Detailed description
To carry out work with hazardous substances that do not comply with the provisions of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance, you must apply to the competent authority.

In order to obtain an exemption, you must be able to prove that the measure or project in question complies with the protection objective of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance. For example, you can apply for an exemption for
- Deviation from storage regulations
- Permanent wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Exceptions to set deadlines
- And others
Requirements
- The deviation from the law that you are requesting must be compatible with the protection of the persons employed.
- There is a disproportionate hardship.

Process
- You must apply for an official exemption by e-mail or post to the competent authority.
- You submit the required information to the competent authority.
- The competent authority will check your information and provide you with feedback.
Deadline

There is generally no deadline. Exception: you apply to deviate from a statutory deadline.
