Notification of the new installation or significant modification of an oil heating system

If you want to install a new heating oil consumer system (e.g. heating oil tanks) or significantly modify an existing one, you must notify the responsible water authority six weeks in advance.

  • Detailed description

    All underground heating oil storage facilities and above-ground heating oil storage facilities with more than 1000 liters of heating oil must be notified to the lower water authority prior to construction or significant modification.

    The project must be notified to the lower water authority in good time, i.e. at least six weeks before the start of construction or significant modification. The water authority may impose conditions or reject the project.

  • Documents

    The notification must contain information on the operator, the location and boundaries of the installation, the substances hazardous to water that are handled in the installation, certificates of usability issued by the building authorities and the technical and organizational measures that are important for the safety of the installation.

    in accordance with the fee schedule of the Ministry responsible for environmental protection

    Notification to the competent authority, if necessary order/prohibition in the event of non-compliance with the requirements

  • Duration

    The project may commence 6 weeks after notification, unless otherwise ordered or prohibited by the responsible authorities.

    Notification of the project at least six weeks in advance

    Lower water authorities of the districts and independent cities of the state of Brandenburg, in the case of concentrating decisions (e.g. according to BImSchG, BbgBO) the respective approval authority is responsible

    Notifiable pursuant to paragraph 1 is not the construction of

    1. installations for the storage, filling or handling of substances hazardous to water for which an application has been made for a suitability assessment pursuant to Section 63(1) of the Federal Water Act, and

    2. other installations which are the subject of an approval procedure under other legislation, provided that compliance with the requirements of this Ordinance is also ensured in the approval procedure.
