Detailed description
The search and excavation for archaeological monuments as well as the salvage of archaeological monuments from bodies of water require the approval of the competent authority.
Projects in excavation protection areas that may endanger hidden monuments require the approval of the competent authority. Previous agricultural use does not require a permit, but a change of use requires a permit.
The permit may be granted subject to conditions, e.g.:
- Management of the measure by an expert with a university degree in an archaeological subject
- Submission of a detailed excavation/investigation concept
- Ensuring the treatment, safeguarding and documentation of the archaeological finds in accordance with the guidelines
- Ensuring the documentation of diagnostic information in accordance with the guidelines

Requirements
A permit can only be granted if it is ensured that archaeological monuments or sources for research are not endangered or if there is an overriding public interest in the research.

- the documents required for the assessment, e.g. site plan, cadastral map or base map with entries
- Submission of an excavation/research concept, including a scientific/monument preservation question and an indication of the equipment and aids used

Process
You submit an application for a permit for the areas / areas concerned.
After reviewing your application, you will be granted a permit if all the necessary requirements are met.
The authorisation may be subject to conditions.
