Detailed description
A need to acquire and possess firearms or ammunition is recognised in the case of persons who credibly demonstrate that they need firearms or ammunition for scientific or technical purposes, for testing, assessment, investigation or for a similar purpose (weapons, ammunition experts).
Permission to acquire firearms or ammunition is usually granted for firearms or ammunition of any kind and for an indefinite period. It may be subject to the requirement to submit to the authority at certain intervals a list of the stock of firearms. In the case of the acquisition of a firearm, § 10 (1a) does not apply to the holder of a firearms possession card for firearms of any kind if the possession is not exercised for more than three months.
