Detailed description
Parents have the option of applying for deferral from school attendance if it is expected that the child will not be able to meet the requirements of Year 1 of elementary school. There may be various reasons for this.
The decision is made on the basis of the school doctor's opinion, the school admission interview and other information provided to the school by the parents.
Children who are deferred from attending school for a school year must attend a day care center or a rehabilitative early intervention program. Proof of this must be submitted to the school by the parents,
Deferral from school attendance should only be the exception.
