As a qualified person for testing, you carry out tests on explosion-protected devices after they have been repaired. If you want to work as a qualified person for testing, you need official recognition.

As a person qualified to carry out inspections, you carry out tests on explosion-proof equipment after it has been repaired. If you want to work as a qualified person, you need official recognition.

This administrative service includes the official recognition of a qualified person for examinations of

• Devices
• protection systems, or
• Safety, control or regulating devices within the meaning of the ATEX Directive (2014/34/EU)

after a repair in respect of a part on which explosion protection depends.

• Completed technical vocational training or proof of another technical qualification of the person to be recognized that qualifies them for the intended testing task
• Practical experience of the person to be recognized with comparable work equipment over an appropriate period of time, so that the assigned testing task is performed reliably
• Activity of the person to be recognized in the environment of the upcoming inspection of the work equipment to be inspected as well as appropriate further training
• Expert opinion on the qualifications of the person to be recognized and on the equipment and quality assurance of the company
• Proof of the regular need for such inspections

• Completed technical vocational training or proof of another technical qualification of the person to be recognized, which qualifies for the intended test task

After the scope of the examination has been determined by the recognition authority, the applicant commissions an expert to give an expert opinion. This statement refers to the technical and organizational requirements of the company and the examination of the personal suitability of the applicant and his skills and knowledge of the relevant legal norms for the corresponding test work. If the applicant has been accredited as a test laboratory or inspection body according to standards of the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17000 series, the scope of the expert opinion and, if necessary, the trial test will be adjusted accordingly.
